However, not all of these signs and symptoms may be present. About 70% of women have polycystic ovaries, which are enlarged and contain many small, fluid-filled sacs on the surface of the ovary. These are often called \u201ccysts,\u201d as is the syndrome of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>While PCOS is incurable, it can be managed with a healthy diet and exercise.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Blood Sugar, Insulin, and PCOS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The main task of women with PCOS during nutrition is to maintain a balanced blood sugar level and reduce body weight.<\/p>\n<p>The carbohydrates that we consume with food enter the blood in the form of sugar. However, most cells of the body are not able to absorb and use this sugar without a certain signal: they need the hormone insulin. After eating a meal rich in carbohydrates, the pancreas secretes insulin, which subsequently binds to specific receptors on the surface of target cells. As a result, there is an intracellular release of secondary messengers, the so-called inositols, which contribute to the absorption of glucose from the blood. In the ovaries, insulin has another additional effect: it stimulates the synthesis of androgen, which explains the close relationship between blood sugar, insulin and PCOS. Thus, hyperinsulinemia leads to hyperandrogenism (an increase in the HOMA index) in women and anovulatory infertility in PCOS.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the 20th century. scientists have confirmed for the first time the frequent weakening of signal transduction in insulin receptors in PCOS, which was later called \u201cinsulin resistance\u201d. To compensate for this condition, the body produces excess insulin (compensatory hyperinsulinemia), while simultaneously stimulating increased production of male hormones (hyperandrogenism).<\/p>\n<p>To avoid an increase in blood sugar levels, women with PCOS are advised to follow a healthy lifestyle and diet to avoid an increase in blood sugar levels. At the same time, it is important to make sure that the body has enough inositol.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Myo- and D-chiro-inositols<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The secondary messenger inositol is involved in insulin metabolism in two so-called isoforms: myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol (both important for signal transduction).<\/p>\n<p>Myo and D-chiro-inositols are converted into inositol phosphoglycans, the secondary messengers of insulin, in 2 ways: myo-inositol participates in glucose utilization via the IPG of inositol phosphoglycan, capturing a glucose molecule and delivering it to the cell, and D-chiro-inositol, through other inositol phosphoglycans, activates glycogen synthesis in cells.<\/p>\n<p>The physiological ratio of inositols in humans in the blood is <strong>40:1<\/strong>, and in the follicular fluid of a healthy woman is <strong>100:1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>D-chiro-inositol is mainly present in the liver and muscles.<\/p>\n<p>Myo-inositol is prevalent in: brain, heart, spleen, intestine, kidneys, blood. In the liver, myo-inositol (MI) promotes cellular glucose uptake, and D-chiro-inositol (DKI) increases glycogen synthesis. MI stimulates glucose uptake in the ovary and is an important mediator of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). At the same time, DKI mediates insulin-dependent synthesis of androgens (male hormones).<\/p>\n<p>The main problem of patients with PCOS is the imbalance between the two isomers.<\/p>\n<p>The more MI in the follicular fluid, the better the maturation of high-quality oocytes. Adding MI during the period of \u201csuperovulation\u201d increases pregnancy by 45%.<\/p>\n<p>MI improves the quality of first-order blastocysts and promotes the onset of clinical pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>Fertilovit F PCOS contains both isoforms in a medically appropriate ratio of 100:1, which allows you to optimize dietary therapy and the ovarian cycle.
